EAST CARBON - Vicki Ann Ruesch Doporto, age 59, passed away Dec. 28, 2011 at her daughter's home in Murray after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 8, 1952 in Ogden to Rubert and Flora Anderson Ruesch.
On March 4, 1972, she married Robert R. Doporto in East Carbon; he passed away on July 6, 2004.
Vicki was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from East Carbon High School in 1970 and later received her Cosmetology degree from the College of Eastern Utah. Vicki was well respected and a valued employee of the House of Beauty and Salon 127 in East Carbon where many called her "The Queen". While working as a beautician, she also managed to work part time at the Sunnyside Post Office for 30 years and as a stylist at Parkdale Care Center in Price.
Vicki had a special love for everyone and her smile warmed the hearts of all. She was devoted to her family and was a dedicated caregiver to anyone in need. Vicki was happiest when she was around her family and friends, however she seemed to have an extra twinkle in her eyes when she was shopping or playing the slot machines. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she fought a valiant battle to be with her family during the holidays.
Survived by her mother, Flora Ruesch, Springdale; sister, Peggy Knocke, Tuscon, Ariz; two sons and one daughter, Daniel Doporto and Pam Utterbach, Chase (Nana) Doporto, all of Salt Lake City; Jessica Doporto and Victor Aguirre, Murray; in-laws, Eddie (Corrina) Doporto, St. George; David (Marcella) Doporto, Price; Richard (Sandy) Doporto, Layton; Evelyn (Jim) MacLean, Price; Eleanor (Larry) Watson, St. George; and seven grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her father, husband, sisters, Nadine and Renee Ruesch.
Funeral service, Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell's Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service.
Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Vicki at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
