HELPER - Josephine Limone Barra, age 93, passed away Christmas morning 2011, at the Parkdale Care Center in Price.
She arrived in this world on July 11, 1918 in Helper to Joseph and Mary Pauli Limone.
Josie married John Battista Barra at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helper in July of 1946. Shortly after marriage they moved to California where they both taught school for many years. Josie was a longtime resident of Oakhurst, Calif., where they were blessed with many friends. She loved knitting, oil painting and was an accomplished artist. She enjoyed the companionship of her husband and they loved traveling the world.
She is survived by her sister, Rosemary Topolovec, Helper; sister-in-law, Margie Kamby, Sonoma, Calif; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Josie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Rena (George) Higginson; brothers, Paul and John (Enis) Limone.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff at Parkdale Care Center for the love and care given to Josephine for the past five years.

Memorial Mass, Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, 10 a.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper. Family will be at the church Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Committal service, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Donations in Josephine name may be given to St. Anthony's or a charity of choice.
