It was a tale of two different games for the Carbon High girl's basketball team during the 2A/3A preseason preview in Richfield.

In their first game against Canyon View, Carbon built up a lead of 22-12 through the first three quarters of the game. In the fourth, Canyon View began a comeback that took the game down to the wire. After scoring just 12 points in 24 minutes of play, Canyon View scored 16 points in the final quarter to close the gap but Carbon was able to weather the storm and gain the 31-28 victory.

Amanda Freestone led Carbon with 12 points and Rachel Scoggins added eight more for the Lady Dinos.

In their second game of the weekend against Cedar City, the Lady Dinos played from behind as the fouls mounted against them during the game. Cedar City used a free throw advantage to get the 48-41 victory. For the game, Carbon shot 4-of-8 from the free throw line while Cedar City shot 25-of-33.

Miranda Averett led the Lady Dinos with a team-high 22 points in the loss. Scoggins added seven points.

Carbon High (6-3) will look to get back on the winning track as they next take on Union tonight at the Carbon High School gym at 7 p.m.
