Ice pond open, Carbon Rec has skates

The Ice Pond at the Carbon County Fairgrounds is open and ready for business. The pond will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. It will be closed on Monday for maintenance. The county has made some major improvements to the pond that includes new bathrooms, lights and a paved parking lot.

You can get ice skates from Carbon Recreation. Prices are $5 a pair or two for $7. Group rates are also available. For information on the pond call the fairgrounds at 636-3214. For skate rentals call 636-3702.
