PRICE - The Honorable A. John Ruggeri, age 92, passed away Dec. 7, 2011 in Price.
He was born April 1, 1919 in Price to John and Pauline Berra Ruggeri.
Married Margaret Lorraine Price June 20, 1942 in Helper.
A. John attended Notre Dame School and Carbon High School and the University of Utah where he received a Juris Doctorate Degree from the College of Law in 1942. Judge Ruggeri devoted many years of his life to public service.
Following graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II on the USS Ringgold where he advanced to the rand of Lieutenant, J.G. After his honorable discharge he returned to Price to practice law.
In addition to private practice, he acted as both county and city attorney and presided as city judge prior to occupying the 7th Circuit bench. Following retirement in 1988 he served as a senior judge, arbitrator and mediator. In his later years he enjoyed working with the boy scouts at the Castle Valley Center.
Survived by his daughters, Ad Mara Ruggeri, Price, Evadne (Darrell) Goodhue, Iowa; son, John Price Ruggeri, Costa Rica; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Frances Cunliffe, Salt Lake City; loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margaret; parents; infant son; granddaughter; sister, Mary R. Karren.
Vigil service, Sunday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Sunday and Monday one hour prior to service at Mitchell Funeral Home. Committal, Cliffview Cemetery.
