Local public safety investigates body found in sewer
By RICHARD SHAW Sun Advocate publisher The Carbon County Sheriff's office, along with county Hazmat crews and fire crews from Price spent Monday investigating the site of a body that was found in a sewer manhole just east of Price along Highway 6.
Carbon County Sheriff James Cordova confirmed the discovery of the body by Price River Water Improvement District workers as they did a routine check on the sewer system on Monday morning.
"We don't know the cause of death, nor can we identify whose body it is," said Cordova. "The body has been sent to the Utah State Medical Examiners office for examination."
He could not detail when more information would be forthcoming.
