Conductor Russell Wilson wields the baton for a final warmup of the Price Civic Chorale and Orchestra at Monday's performance of Handel's "Messiah." After donning his formal tailcoat, Wilson led the groups and soloists in what has become a community tradition. This was the 63rd annual performance of the centuries-old oratorio. Over six decades, the performers have grown from a small choir with piano accompaniment to about 60 singers and and orchestra with a full string section and brass, woodwinds and tympanist. The expanded stage at Civic Auditorium came in handy.
