Lights up, holidays on

Price City employee Melanie Adams plugs in the lights to a holiday display she just placed on a pole on east Main Street Tuesday morning. The cities in the county have almost all their decorations up, getting ready for lights-on this weekend. Most local residents will begin hanging their decorations right after Thanksgiving. Speaking of decorations, The Price Community Progress Committee is sponsoring the Ninth Annual Griswold Holiday Lighting Contest. Patty Pappas, Committee Chairperson of the annual event, said the judging will take place Dec. 12-17. The judging is based on uniformity of theme, originality, most effective use of lights, and festivity. All entries must be in Price City limits. There will be four residences and one business chosen for awards to be presented Dec. 20. For more detail, call Kathy Hanna-Smith at 435-650-3922.
