Naomi M. Martinez, 67, passed away Nov. 13, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Antonito, Colo. after a courageous battle with cancer.
Naomi was born on Oct. 5, 1944 in Dragerton, the daughter of Jose Maestas and Francisquita Trujillo Maestas. Naomi was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed going to bingo, camping, fishing, spending quality time with her family and having children around the house.
Survivors include her daughter Yvonne G. (Anthony) Sisneros; son Gene Gevara; three grandchildren Dustin Sisneros, Brandie Martinez, and Nathan Sisneros Padilla, all of Antonito, Colo; brother Manuel (Rosa) Maestas, Magna; sister Inga (Walter) Dickerson, East Carbon; sister-in-law Louella Maestas, East Carbon; brother-in-law Juan Medina, Wellington. She is also, survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orlando Martinez, sister June Medina, brother Eloy Maestas and brother Eulojio Maestas.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service was held in Antonito on Nov. 20, 2011. A second Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Price.
