Following yesterday's 4.1 magnitude earthquake northwest of Orangeville, the Emery County Sheriff's office has issued a press release indicating that emergency response teams from the sheriff's office made contact with the Deer Creek Coal Mine, Huntington Power Plant and Hunter Power Plant near Castle Dale and were advised that there were no reports of damage at any of the facilities.

The press release also indicated that personnel from the sheriff's office and the Emery Water Conservancy District also checked a number of dams in the area, including those at Joes Valley Reservoir, Millsite Reservoir west of Ferron, and one located near Huntington Canyon.

According to a report by the University of Utah seismology department, the 'light' earthquake's epicenter was located approximately 6 miles northwest of the town of Orangeville, about a mile west of SR-29.

The Emery County Sheriff's Office concluded that there have been no reports of injuries as a result of the earthquake.
