Guest conductor William S. Carson wields the baton at Saturday's Eastern Utah Wind Symphony concert in the newly renovated Price Civic Auditorium. Carson is director of bands at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was also guest clarinet soloist at the event. He has had a 47-year friendship with Gregory Benson, conductor of the Wind Symphony and vice chancellor at USU Eastern. They were elementary classmates in Big Rapids, Mich. The concert featured a mix marches, jazz and symphonic pieces written for bands.
