On Sept. 30, operators with the UTiP Hotline recived a call concerning the headless carcass of a mature buck near the town of Scofield. Sgt. Stacey Jones confirmed that the animal had been shot and left to waste, appearing to have been killed a day or two earlier.

Reported by a concerned citizen; the animal had been caped, its head removed and the remainder of the carcass abandoned.

Anyone with information regarding the killing and waste of this deer is encouraged to contact the UTiP hotline at 1-800-662-3337. The identity of reporting parties will be kept confidential upon request. A reward is offered for the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for this crime.

An additional contact is Lt. Carl Gramlich, carlgramlich@utah.gov, 435.820.6445
