In the season finale, the Carbon High Dinos football team was shutout by the Spanish Fork Dons 42-0 on Wednesday night.

From the opening whistle to start the first half, it was all Spanish Fork. The Dons scored in multiple ways including rushing, receiving and a punt return for a touchdown before the first half was completed.

Carbon's rushing game was stymied by the Dons defense and the passing game was unable to generate positive yardage.

Despite the large deficit at halftime, Carbon head coach Jeff Blanc said he was proud that the team finished the game strong and didn't quit at any point.

With the loss, Carbon finished the 2011 season 4-5 overall and 0-5 in Region 12 play.

Read Tuesday's Sun Advocate for a full story about the game.
