Clayton Bell, a former Emery County deputy sheriff, was arrested on charges of burglary and theft which reportedly occurred on Oct. 16 at the sheriff's office in Castle Dale. Bell was employed by the sheriff's office up until Oct 1.

Bell was charged, arrested and booked and has since posted bail. Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk said the incident is being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation.

The Emery County attorney's office is reviewing the case and waiting for all statements to be compiled so they can screen the statements so formal charges can be pronounced.
