The 2011 Price City General Election scheduled to occur on November
8, 2011 to elect (3) three Councilmembers has been cancelled. Section
20A-1-206, Utah Code Annotated, 1953 as amended, specifically provides
that a municipal legislative body may cancel a local election if the
number of municipal officer candidates, including any eligible
write-in candidates for the at-large municipal offices, does not
exceed the number of open at large municipal offices for which
candidates have filed. Three (3) candidates have filed for the three
(3) open positions of Price City Councilmember. Therefore, a general
election will not be necessary and pursuant to Resolution 2011-20,
passed and adopted on October 12, 2011, the Price City General
Election scheduled on November 8, 2011 was cancelled.
