PRICE - Our loving husband, father, Poppy, brother, uncle and friend, Bert Lynn Prichard, age 86, passed away Oct. 16, 2011, while surrounded by his loving family at Utah Valley Specialty Hospital in Provo.
He was born Aug. 29, 1925 in Price to Guy and Lillie Lind Prichard and at the age of seven his mother passed away. His father married Kate Lemmon and the family was blessed with their second mother.
On Oct. 13, 1945, he married the love of his life Ruth Ann Stone in Lehi.
Bert was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1943. He later attended Carbon College where he received his Associate's degree. Bert was deeply proud of his country, the American flag and all that it stood for. He honorably served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and Korea where he was awarded the purple heart. Bert was a member of the D.A.V., V.F.W. Post # 2379, Marine Corp. League, and the Price American Legion.
In his earlier years, Bert was co-owner and operator of Prichard Transfer where he worked alongside his father Guy, and brothers LeGrande and Leon. Bert later owned Pine Canyon Company where he will always be remembered for his dedication to his work and for making many lifelong friendships. In 1993, he retired from Pine Canyon. Although they closed the doors to the shop, his home was always open to his buddies for an enjoyable visit or a good game of cards.
In 2000, Bert was baptized as a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. He was a life member of the Price Elk's Lodge #1550 and a former member of Carbon Lodge #16 F.& A.M. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and he was very proud of them. Bert will be dearly missed by all.
