After nearly a month of playing games at the friendly confines of the B-DAC, the Lady Eagles ventured out on the road to take on the College of Southern Idaho. The Lady Eagles were unable to come away with a win as they were defeated by CSI in three sets (25-13, 25-13, 25-15).

The Lady Eagles fell behind CSI in each of the three sets and had to play from behind all game long. In the first set the Lady Eagles trailed 5-3 before getting a point on an attack error by CSI to make it 5-4. Unfortunately for the USU Eastern, they would get no closer for the remainder of the set as CSI jumped to leads of 9-4 and 18-8 before finally closing the first set 25-13.

In the second set the Lady Eagles were able to jump out to a 5-2 lead thanks to kills by Lindzee Bair, Danee Merell and Joy Malone. But again CSI came roaring back with five straight points to take a 7-5 lead. After the Lady Eagles tied the set at 8-8, the Golden Eagles shifted into another gear as they built their lead to six points at 19-13 before scoring the final six points of the set to go up 2-0.

In the third and final set, the CSI wasted no time as they soared out to a 10 point lead at 12-2. Despite being down, the Lady Eagles were able to string together a few points to bring the lead back down to single digits. However the early set lead became too much for the Lady Eagles to overcome as CSI completed the sweep winning the final set 25-15.

Parkinson lead the Lady Eagles with seven kills. Kylie Cordon added five kills and Bair, Malone and Merrell each finished with three kills. Abigale Ericson led the team with 13 digs and Merrell led all Lady Eagles with 15 assists.

The Lady Eagles, now 4-16 and 1-3 in Scenic West conference play, were scheduled to face North Idaho College on Saturday, but the game was cancelled to due the memorial service for basketball coach Brad Barton which took place the same day in Ogden.

The game between the Lady Eagles and NIC has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 19 in Coeur d'Alene.

The Lady Eagles will now head to Colorado for the first of three straight games on the road first against Colorado Northwestern Community College on Saturday.
