PRICE/LINCOLN, Neb - Our considerate, helpful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, Rose Kondziela Marietti, age 96, passed away peacefully Oct. 7, 2011in Lincoln, Nebraska with her daughter, son and family by her side.
She was the first of four siblings born to Frank and Annie Dubinsky Kondziela on Aug. 3, 1915 in Diamondville, Wyo. After the passing of her mother's first husband Andrew Stoffa, Rose was blessed with two half brothers and two half sisters.
She was a longtime resident of Superior, Wyo., and Corning, Calif., where she attended local schools and graduated from Superior in 1932. Rose was a relentless worker, who married Fred Marietti in Superior, Wyo., on February 13, 1940. Together they owned and operated two businesses in Superior and another in Rock Springs, Wyo. In 1955, Rose and Fred followed the coal mining boom and they made their home in Price.
Rose was a great wife and home maker who cared for everyone as if they were family. She cherished her grandchildren and dedicated her life to the care of others. She was a member of the Catholic Church and an active member of the Altar Society. Rose loved to visit and she especially enjoyed taking food and fresh vegetables to her friends and the needy. She loved driving her friends around and helping anyone run errands. Her warm smile and soft spoken ways brought great comfort to many. Although, Rose has been away from home for awhile, everyone expressed their deep love and best wishes to her.
Survived by her daughter, Ramona (Mike) Hanlon, Lincoln, Neb; son, Fred (Elaine) Marietti, Price; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Margaret.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Barbara Jean; granddaughter, Nicole; and her beloved siblings.
Funeral Mass, Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price. Vigil service, Wednesday evening, 7 p.m. at the church. Family will receive friends Wednesday and Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Committal, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
