Carbon Volleyball drops league game to North Sanpete

The Carbon High Lady Dinos volleyball team is finding out Region 12 play will be very difficult to navigate through as they fell to North Sanpete in four sets.

Carbon and North Sanpete played a close first set which went down to the wire, but the Lady Dinos were able to take the set as they lost 27-25.

In the second set, the Lady Dinos were able to even up the game at 1-1 with a 25-18 set win.

However in the third set, North Sanpete took control of the game as they posted a 25-21 win.

And in the fourth and final set, the Lady Hawks ran away from Carbon by way of a score 25-6 to win the game.

Senior middle hitter Amanda Freestone finished with 19 kills and senior outside hitter Rachel Scoggins added 9 more.

Senior Shaylie Jones finished with 30 assists.

Junior libero Jennee Martinez led the Dinos with 12 digs, Jones added 11 digs and junior Ashley Quinton finished with 8.

Carbon is now 3-7 (3-3, Region 12) on the season. They are currently in third place behind league leaders Delta 11-3 (6-0, Region 12) and North Sanpete (6-3 (4-1, Region 12).

The Lady Dinos will next travel to Salt Lake City for a tournament on Friday and Saturday.
