EAST CARBON - Mildred Bahr Lipsey left her earthly home on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, to take up residency in her "mansion in the sky".
She was born March 1, 1917 to Ernest and Bertha Betzing Bahr in Chester, Ohio. She was the fourth child of nine born to this union.
Married Victor Lipsey on March 26, 1939 in Yuma, Ariz. They had three children: James Ernest Lipsey, Vicky Lipsey Gillilan and Joyce Lipsey Branson prior to his passing on Sept. 30, 1962.
Mildred was a strong, amazing woman of faith and she lived her life following in the footsteps of the Lord. During her 94 years, she touched many lives with her knowledge and wisdom; she was truly part of the "greatest generation".
Survived by her daughter, Joyce (Bevan) Branson, Helper; daughter-in-law, Earlene Lipsey, La Mirada, Calif; six grandchildren, Brock (Kass) Branson, Brett Branson, Mark (Cyndie) Gillilan, Vic (Shelley) Gillilan, Wayne Day, Rhea Dawn Dominquez; many loving great-grandchildren; sisters, Lila Winters, Parkersburg, WV, Evelyn Well, Pomeroy, Ohio; brother, Henry (Eileen) Bahr, Long Bottom, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, husband, Vic; son, Jim; and daughter, Vicky.
At her request, a graveside service will be Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, 11 a.m., Price City Cemetery. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, (233 E. Main Street) in Price Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Mortuary where friends are welcome to share memories of Mildred at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
