The ongoing search for missing Utah woman Susan Powell now has the involvment of the Carbon County Sheriff's Office, according to Sheriff James Cordova.

Cordova said the West Valley City Police Department, which is heading the search for Powell, requested the help which has shifted to Topaz Mountain, about 40 miles northwest of Delta, in Juab County.

The West Valley City Police Department requested that cavader dogs and their handlers be sent out to the the areas where authorities are searching, according to Cordova.

Authorities have been searching for Powell, who has been missing since Dec. 6, 2009.

Cavader dogs from many local agencies have been involved of the search, which was expected to finish this week.

However on Wednesday afternoon, authorities searching in the area found some human remains.

Authorities, who are still in the process of documenting everything at the site, are unsure if the remains belong to Powell.
