NORTH OGDEN/SUNNYSIDE - Alta Alena Ripplinger Preston, age 94, passed away on Sept. 6, 2011 in Bountiful, after a short battle of cancer.
She was born Oct. 8, 1916 in Tabor, Idaho to Karl and Alena Daniels Ripplinger. She married James Glenn Preston on May 15, 1937 in Price; they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was raised and educated in Driggs, Idaho; she was a life long member of the LDS Church holding many positions.
She is survived by her children: Karla (Ron) Anderson, North Ogden; GayAnn (Ted) Farmer, Orangeville; Larry (Alisa) Preston, East Carbon; Garry (Jann) Preston, Woods Cross; and Buddy Tubinaghtewa, Phoenix, Ariz; two sisters, three brothers, 33 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, two sons: Kay Preston and Myron Preston, one grandson and one brother.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Wellington LDS Stake Center. A viewing will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 E. 100 S. - Price) and on Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Sunnyside, Utah. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
