He was the second child of 11 born to Andrene and LaVern Frandsen. He was born in the old Frandsen home which still stands on the northwest corner of 200 N and 200 E. When the war ended, he married his sweetheart Ada Rae Craw from Minersville in the Manti Temple. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on July 27, 2011. Frandsen worked for 40 years in coal mines, including over six years as a Face Boss and as Graveyard Foreman until his retirement. The couple was called to work in the Manti Temple as ordinance workers.

The couple are the parents of four children, Brent Lamond, Garry Lee, Robert Douglas, all of Price, and Linda Rae Duke, of Hurricane. They have 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

After being discharged from the service, they moved to Dragerton, now known as East Carbon City, in 1946 where Frandsen began working at Horse Canyon Coal Mine for H.S. Steel until retirement. Their four children were raised and graduated from East Carbon High School. They moved back to Price in 1994 to be with their children and have lived here ever since.
