Flu vaccinations - Clinic hours at the health district in Price are Monday to Friday, 3 to 4:30 p.m., and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Defensive driving class - A four-hour course is slated Jan. 18 at 8 a.m. at CEU college center in Price. Motorists completing the class receive 50-point reductions from Utah driving records. Fees required. For information, contact the Utah Safety Council toll-free at 1-800-933-5943.
USU food manager course - will be taught March 11, 13, 18 and 20. Fees required. For information, contact the county USU agent.
Food handlers classes - Two-hour sessions are slated at the health department in Price on Feb. 12 and March 12 at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Test fees required. Classes will be offered at the health district in Castle Dale on Jan. 16, Feb. 20 and March 20 at 4 and 7 p.m.
HEAT program - Applicants for the federally funded energy assistance program must have identification, Social Security cards for all household members 18 years of age or older, copies of utility bills and proof of preceding month's income for all employed people in the home. Parenting for teens - The Family Support and Children's Justice Center in Price offers a free class dealing with the issues, problems and difficulties facing teen parents. Carbon County Animal Shelter - AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Family Support & Children's Justice Center - offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old. Crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Families may use the nursery for respite, family crisis, court, doctors appointments, medical emergencies, mental health appointments, escaping family violence, attending parenting classes/divorce classes and AA/Narcotic Anonymous meetings. Cancer screening - Southeastern Utah Health District in Price offers checks twice a month for women up to and including age 64. Clinics include breast, pelvic and pap exams at low or no cost. Women 50 to 64 may qualify for free mammogram vouchers. Call the health department at 637-3671 to schedule appointments.
