The Carbon Babe Ruth 13-year-old team are gearing up for tournament play as they will participate in the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament.

The tournament will be held from July 31 through August 6.

The double elimination tournament will see the team from Carbon County playing their first game on Aug. 2 against the winner of a game pitting a team from Nevada and Tooele.

If Carbon wins that game, they would advance to play another game on Thursday, Aug. 4. If they lose their first game, they would play on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Seven teams are participating in the tournament instead of the original eight teams, Etzel said. One team had to drop out which allowed the Carbon Babe Ruth team to have a bye in the tournament play.
