Helper American Legion advances in tournament play
The Helper American Legion team traveled to Kearns for their action in tournament play.
The team played their first game on Saturday against a team from Tooele and Helper came away with an 11-1 win.
Helper played its next game against the hometown team from Kearns. The back and forth game saw Helper fall in a close game to Kearns 10-9.
Helper picked themselves up after the loss and played their next game against a team from Cyprus. Helper was leading the game 3-2 in the fifth inning when the game was postponed due to rain. They resumed play on Wednesday morning and were able to beat Cyprus 6-2, according to coach Jeff Cisneros.
The team advanced to play the Northern Utah Sox on Wednesday afternoon.
