Golden Eagle to take talents to Carroll College

HELENA,-Mont - Carroll College men's basketball coach Brandon Veltri announces the signing of USU Eastern sophomore Renan Custodio.

Renan, a 6'8" forward originally from Criciuma, Brazil, played the last two seasons for Scenic West powerhouse USU Eastern.-In his time at USU Eastern, Renan helped the Screaming Eagles win 45 games and advance to the 2010 NJCAA National Semi-Finals. In his sophomore season Renan shot 48 percent from the floor including 41 percent from three, scoring 6.3 PPG. Renan's 41 percent three point shooting this past season earned him the fourth best average in the conference.

"We expect big things from Renan," said 2011 Frontier Conference Coach of the Year Brandon Veltri. "Renan has great size and shoots the ball as well as any player in our program. He has the size, skill level and athleticism which should help us compete against the best teams in the Frontier Conference as well as the top NAIA programs across the country."-

Renan transfers a 3.6 GPA after completing his associates degree from USU Eastern.

The Carroll men's basketball team finished this past season with a 23-9 record, a Frontier Conference Championship, and advanced to the NAIA sweet 16.

The Saints return 10 of their top 12 players from this past season.
