Top place finishers in the Beat the HeatHorseshoe Tournament:

3rd place: Kevin Powell and Richard Dix from Price

2nd place: Mike Clark and Mikey Lofley from Price

1st place: Matt Williams and Seth Noyes

There were 20 teams from Price, East Carbon and Huntington

The organizers are trying to put together a Fall Finale Doubles Tournament in September.

It was nice to utilize the newly remodeled pits that Jade Powell did for his Eagle Project. Powell along with his fellow students in the Trio Program reinstalled the stakes, put in new sand, set up a new fourth pit and backboards will be the finishing touch.

The city has also had a hand in the renovations by installing new fencing and a new light.

Upcoming horseshoe tournaments will be the Pioneer Days Celebration in Wellington, International Days and Carbon County Fair.
