Helper AL team continues rolling along with wins

The Helper American Legion team is continuing their winning ways.
Continuing with Utah Valley league action on Wednesday, Helper played Granger at home and won 6-3.Thursday night they traveled to take on East and posted an impressive 11-0 victory to move their record to 11-1.
For the Wednesday game Jaren McCourt pitched a complete game and got the win. In contrast to the day before, Helper jumped out early and left little in doubt. Julian Tamllos had a big double in first inning and later scored. Kash Jewkes had a RBI single in the third inning and Seth Tryon had a three-run homer in the fourth. They finished up with a final run in the fifth.
"We played solid defense," said coach Jeff Cisneros. "This was a good win against a team that was only one loss behind us in the standings."
On the road game against East, Helper hurler Dakota Cisneros took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before East's leadoff man got a single. Cisneros finished the game allowing one hit and no runs.
Helper jumped out to a early 6-0 lead after the first inning. Doubles by Hayden Basinger, McCourt and Tryon were the big hits in the inning. Gage Bell also had a RBI single.
Helper piled on a pair in the third on a triple by Bell. The three additional Helper runs in the fifth were icing on the big win.
" We hit the ball very well and got some great defense and pitching. The win put us at 11-1 in the league," Cisneros said.
Helper travels to Kearns on Monday and then Murray on Wednesday for a game at 7 p.m. The schedule had them playing a double header at 5:30 and 8 p.m. but that has changed. Helper's last home game will be Friday night at 7 p.m. with Taylorsville.
