The Helper American Legion team is continuing their winning ways.

Continuing with Utah Valley league action on Wednesday, Helper played Granger at home and won 6-3.Thursday night they traveled to take on East and posted an impressive 11-0 victory to move their record to 11-1.

For the Wednesday game Jaren McCourt pitched a complete game and got the win. In contrast to the day before, Helper jumped out early and left little in doubt. Julian Tamllos had a big double in first inning and later scored. Kash Jewkes had a RBI single in the third inning and Seth Tryon had a three-run homer in the fourth. They finished up with a final run in the fifth.

"We played solid defense," said coach Jeff Cisneros. "This was a good win against a team that was only one loss behind us in the standings."

On the road game against East, Helper hurler Dakota Cisneros took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before East's leadoff man got a single. Cisneros finished the game allowing one hit and no runs.

Helper jumped out to a early 6-0 lead after the first inning. Doubles by Hayden Basinger, McCourt and Tryon were the big hits in the inning. Gage Bell also had a RBI single.

Helper piled on a pair in the third on a triple by Bell. The three additional Helper runs in the fifth were icing on the big win.

" We hit the ball very well and got some great defense and pitching. The win put us at 11-1 in the league," Cisneros said.
