Wellington chief to parents: accompany kid ATV drivers
Wellington Police Chief Lee Barry is giving fair warning to parents who let their underage children ride ATVs in city limits: accompany the kids or face a fine and impoundment.
The chief told the city council Wednesday there is no problem using city streets to get to trailheads. However, youngsters on motor vehicles pose a hazard to themselves and others.
"We'll give them a warning the first time we catch them," he said. "The second time we'll impound if we have to."
