As part of its ongoing Centennial Celebration, the City of Price has scheduled two nights of festivities in the Peace Gardens this week.

On Thursday beginning at 7 p.m., the Culture Connection concert will be dedicated to the troops in Afghanistan. Before the music begins, the city will choose the first letter to send from local schools thanking the troops for their service.

Later will come a variety show featuring singers from Castle Country, lasting until 9 p.m.

An extra addition to Thursdays program is a Cowboy Barbeque from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Cowboy Club of Wellington will prepare the meals, which are $8 for adults and $5 for kids.

On Friday at 7 p.m., the celebration continues with a "Rock the Park" event with music and dancing.

That evening will feature smores, pizza from Pizza Hut, root beer and snowies. There will also be bouncers and a dunk tank.

There will also be centennial T-shirts and bricks for sale.
