A 22-year old Helper man was arrested and a quantity of suspected heroin seized Friday after a traffic stop in Helper. Helper Police Chief Trent Anderson identified the suspect as Christopher Hooper.

City police worked in cooperation with the Carbon Metro Drug Task Force and Utah Adult Probation and Parole in the arrest.

Anderson said the suspect had been under investigation for several weeks.

When Hooper was stopped for traffic violations, he was found to be "transporting a fairly large amount of heroin that was packaged for sale," according to Anderson.

Hooper was taken into custody and booked into the Carbon County Jail for Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unsafe Lane Travel and a "72 Hour Hold," placed by AP&P.

"This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected to come," the chief stated.
