Walkers circle the USU Eastern track Friday evening as the fund-raising hike begins. Participants spanned generations in their support for the effort. On Saturday, people in the bleachers applaud the news that the drive raised more than $47,000 for the fight against cancer. Part of the opening celebration Friday involved the release of purple balloons that floated into the cloudy sky overhead.
