CLRSearch Real Estate Search Engine identified which attributes its consumers considered most important to create the list of the best places to avoid a natural disaster. The released list shows the Top 10 Counties to Avoid Natural Disasters.

Carbon County, Utah topped this list but Hawaii and Michigan were the big winners with four counties each in the top 10.

By garnering the top spot, Carbon County received the highest combined score after evaluating CLRSearch community demographic data to find the best place to live to avoid a natural disaster.

Based on a Facebook survey, CLRSearch users ranked natural events in terms of fear when searching for a place to live. The list was assembled by evaluating natural disaster indexes for tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes and hail.

With four counties on the list, Hawaii offers security amongst the breathtaking natural beauty of crystal clear water and mountains, not to mention average high temperatures in the 80s. Although Hawaii has three counties in the top 5, researchers did not factor in the risk of a volcanic event.
