SUNNYSIDE - Margaret Lina Parrish, age 89, passed away May 21, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Margaret was born Nov. 11, 1921 in Pueblo, Colo., to Mr. and Mrs. Robinson. She married William Mims in 1940; they moved to Santa Monica, Calif., and had seven children. He died after 30 years of marriage.
Margaret married Preston Alexander Parrish Jr., a childhood friend in Los Angeles, Calif., on Aug. 29, 1975 and they shared 31 years of marriage in Sunnyside.
Margaret was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and is truly missed.
Her family and many longtime friends will miss her because of the love she showed to every one. She had a great since of humor. She was a lover of sports, especially the Jazz basketball team. She had a good heart and will always be remembered because of it.
She is survived by her four remaining children. Glen I Mims, Nina James, Finis Mims, La Marr Mims: And her dear remaining step-children, Jimmy Parrish, Carl Tony Parrish, Preston Parrish, Merry Parrish; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and beloved nieces, nephews and spouses.
Preceded in death by her husband Preston Alexander Parrish three years ago, parents, brothers and sister; son William Mims Jr., daughters, Bell Drean Mims and Mindora Mims.
Memorial service, Saturday, June 4, 2011, 2 p.m.at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 720 North Cedar Hill Dr., in Price.
Friends are welcome to join the family Saturday one half hour prior to service.
