Pinnacle's Scott Crider veers out in front of a Castle Heights volunteer during the wheelchair race portion of second annual Pinnacle Nursing and Rehabilitation Summer Olympics. The much loved event began on May 23 and continued through May 27 as seniors at the facility participated in wheelchair races at the Dino Mine Adventure Park, balance beam routines, shot put contests, relay races, bar laps and a run through the obstacle course. According to Pinnacle Official Kerrie Barker, 24 of the facility's residents participated in the Olympics. "We like to invite the entire community and all of our residents to participate in this event in order to share our experiences with the entire area," explained Barker. "The seniors get a great sense of achievement from this event. They love being involved and they get a great amount of joy and therapy from the different events in the Olympics."

Of the eight events, the Pinnacle awarded gold, silver and bronze medals to those who placed. Awards were also given for participation. According to Barker, the staff's therapy and activity department did a great job with the Olympics including Chuck Wathall, Scott Crider, Linda Aragon and Sam McCourmick. Price City's Mayor, city council and students from Castle Heights Elementary also participated.
