Monday was a day of remembrance and reflection as Carbon County observed Memorial Day. Flags and flowers adorned cemeteries across the county as friends and a of departed loved ones visited to pay their respects.

Again this year, all resting places had at least one flower thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who took part in the No Graves Unadorned project.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion fired their rifles in traditional salutes at ceremonies recognizing those who served in the armed forces, many of who paid the ultimate price in defense of freedom.
