SHALOTTE, NC - James "Jim" Darrell Robertson, 49, of Shallotte, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at his home after a brave battle with brain cancer.
Jim was born on Aug. 1, 1961, in Ogden, the son of the late Howard Darrell Robertson and Sharon Coon Robertson Eiden. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Robertson.
He retired from the U.S. Navy with 24 years of service in March of 2010. Prior to his retirement, he served on board the USS Boxer LHD-4 stationed in San Diego, Calif. Following his retirement he moved to North Carolina.
Surviving are his wife, of 23 years, Melinda E. Robertson; sister, Sandra Greenwood, and husband, Brett, of Price; two nephews, Caleb Greenwood, and wife, Casey and Caylun Greenwood; two nieces, Neeka and Teasha Greenwood.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel with military honors. Visitation will be from 3-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Private online condolences may be sent to the family at www.brunswickfuneralservice.com.
