A 35-year-old Helper man suspected of burglary was arrested and jailed Monday evening after leading a deputy sheriff on a car chase through Westwood subdivision.

Eric Fox was booked into Carbon County Jail on charges of burglary, evading arrest and illegal possession of firearms.

According to Sheriff James Cordova, deputy Tory Christiansen stopped Fox on Carbonville Road at about 700 North. When the deputy left his car to approach Fox's vehicle, Fox sped away to the south.

Christiansen immediately gave chase. Fox turned east on 100 North and drove into the subdivision. His right front tire went flat and disintegrated, ending the chase.

The suspect was escorted from his vehicle and jailed.
