Castle Valley wrestlers compete in annual championship tournament

Mont Harmon wrestler, Chance Misner competes against Canyon View athlete, Guy Judd, during the regional wrestling tournament conducted Dec. 10.

Athletes from junior high schools in Carbon and Emery County recently competed in the annual region wrestling championships hosted at San Rafael Junior High on Dec. 10.

The competition was intense as athletes battled for a championship title. Wrestlers from both Helper Junior High and Mont Harmon finished the tourney successful as they placed in the top four. Winners from both schools are as follows:

Fourth-Craig Goodenough, Second-Braden Watkins

First-Dylan Olson, Third-Cass Esplin

Second-Kenny Davis, Third-Michael Jenson

Fourth-Preston Lodeserto, Fourth-Brandon Branch

Third-Richy Riche, Third-Patrick Stray

Second-Philip Noyes, Third-Garth Scott

Second-Wes Hunsaker, First-Houston Lui

Fourth-Alex Collins, Fourth-Colton Martinez

Fourth-Robert Ramstetter, First-Chance Misner

First- Nick Deeter, Second-Mike Tryon

Second- Jay Workman, Third-Cameron Atwood

Fourth- Chet Hansen, Third-John Sampinos

First-Levi Branch, Second-Tyler Carlisle

Fourth-Trevor Barker, First-Jesse Blaine
