James "Jim" Darrell Robertson, 49, of Shallotte, NC, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at his home after a brave battle with brain cancer.
Jim was born on Aug. 1, 1961 in Ogden, the son of the late Howard Darrell Robertson and Sharon Coon Robertson Eiden. In addition to his parents, he was preceeded by a son, Jeffery Robertson.
He retired from the U.S. Navy with 24 years of service in March of 2010. Prior to his retirement, he served on board the USS Boxer LHD-4 stationed in San Diego, Calif. Following his retirement he moved to North Carolina.
Surviving are his wife, of 23 years, Melinda E. Robertson; sister, Sandra Greenwood, and wife, Casey and Caylun Greenwood; two nieces, Neeka and Teasha Greenwood.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel with military honors.
