The Carbon High Girls Golf team wrapped up another great season with a fourth place finish at the class 3A State Tournament.
Mountain View Golf Course in West Jordan hosted this year's state tournament.
Sixteen schools showcased their best four players.
Carbon went to the state tournament on high note after winning the Region 10 Championship. Lexi Gagon, Cassandra Hawkinson, Shelby Wilson and Sam Jones all played hard.
They finished with a 206 point team total to finish 4th behind Desert Hills (238), Delta (213) and Judge (211).
Lexi Gagon lead the team, with an 18 hole score of 88 or 74 points, which got her a seventh place finish individually. This also earned her a seat on the 2011 All State Team.
Shelby Wilson ended with a solid 94 and made 64 points.
Cassandra Hawkinson shot 98 making 64 points.
"Watching the girls stand on the first, despite the knots in their stomachs and just stripe their drives, made me realize how far these girls and this program has come. I could not be prouder of this team," remarked Coach Kenji Otani. "All of the girls gave everything they had and never balked when I asked for more. The pillars of the team stood strong and we found some exciting new talent. This is the first year we will actually lose players. Sadly, we say good bye to Shelby Wilson, one of my original six girls and Cassandra Hawkinson, both seniors. What a year and what a future."
