Ten year old Amberia Mena's smile outshines the sun Saturday in East Carbon's Cinco de Mayo parade. She was chosen as princess of the festival. The city park was dedicated to the all-day event, which featured entertainment and food. This is East Carbon's big event, drawing visitors from around the West. Planners on the committee worked for months to put the schedule together. "We had such a great time," said event planner Mary Howell. "Cinco de Mayo gets bigger every year. The timing couldn't have been better. By Monday, snow returned to East Carbon. More photos are on page7A.
