After a great tournament in Roosevelt and solid play at Soldier Hollow, the Lady Dinos still hold a three point lead over Park City for the number one spot in region 10 play.

At the Roosevelt tournament, in less than friendly weather, the Lady Dinos were able to take a a 99 to 89 point victory over Park City followed by Wasatch (70) and Union (65). Shelby Wilson finished with 36 points to lead Carbon. Lexi Gagon was solid, as usual, with 34.

Cassandra Hawkinson and Katie Felice both ended with 29 points.,

The results from Soldier Hollow were not quite as successful.

Park City played very well beating the Lady Dinos by eight to win 105 to 97.

Wasatch and Union placed third and fourth respectively. Wilson lead the team again with 34 points, Gagon scored 33 and Cassandra Hawkinson 30 points.

"The girls actually played good golf, but a couple missed putts and a few bad bounces curbed what could have been stellar rounds, but that is as they say, "the rub of the green,"stated Coach Kenji Otani. "I say it again and again, I am so proud of my team. These girls are dedicated and want to compete. The Roosevelt match landed on Spring Break, but losing a day of vacation did not deter the girls from playing golf. At Soldier Hollow, when the Golf Gods struck down the perfect shot and shrunk the cups, never did I see an ounce of quit.

My girls are more than athletes, they are great people with great character."

The slim lead for region champ will be put to the test on Tuesday in a tournament in Park City.
