Sun Advocate sports reporter

Last week the Carbon Boys tennis team lost 0-5 to Morgan. Then this week they dropped a match 4-1 to Bear River.

"It's been a struggle to keep a consistent lineup for varsity this year.  Nick Haycock came the closest to winning, 6-4, 1-6, 3-6," stated Coach Pete Riggs about the Morgan match.

He went on to talk about Bear River's match.

"We went into this match thinking that we could win. We actually played quite well, but lost some close matches and ended up losing over all 1-4."

Carbon's results against Bear River:

#1 Singles Jorge Mendiola (Carbon) defeated Mike Holmgren (BR) 6-2, 6-1.

#2 Singles Alonso Rhode (BR) defeated Cody Bradford (Carbon) 6-3, 6-3.

#3 Singles Carson Harris (BR) defeated Chris Howell (Carbon) 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.

#1 Doubles Garrett Fronk/Aaron Black (BR) defeated Danny Larson/Ashton Sicilia (Carbon) 6-1, 6-0.

#2 Doubles Clayton Welch/ Tyler Bitner (BR) defeated Garrett Hunt/Bryce Jackman (Carbon) 7-6, 6-3.
