Celebration of Change From "Town" to "City" Planned For The 24th of March - - Also to Welcome Farmers' Institute Folks

Price's City council met last Monday evening, the first meeting since the town became a city of the third class, when the bonds of all officers from the mayor down were counted and approved. A number of the old appointees of the town were retained by the city administration. It was arranged that on the 24th of March there is to be a big celebration in commemoration of the change from town in [status] to that of a city, the (unknown) installation of the electric lighting system and other improvements lately inaugurated Mayor Olson and the five councilmen constitute this committee, who is to prepare the program. A.W. Horsley is also the chairman of a committee named to meet those who come here on the 14th and 15th of the month from the Agriculture College of Utah at Logan to hold a two days farmers institute. They are to be well entertained.

About the only other business transacted was the granting of a saloon license to John Diumenti & Co., who are to occupy the Rogers building on South Ninth street as a saloon, moving their stock of good from the property bought of G.A. Iverson just east of the Price Commericial and Savings Bank, and at which location the firm has in the past been refused a liquor license.

The proclamation of Secretary of State Tingey, declaring Price now a city of the third class and published last Saturday, appears in another column of this impression.
