A single vehicle accident claimed the life of Carbon County business owner and Helper resident Greg Ferderber on Thursday, April 21, according to Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk. Ferderber was reportedly pronounced dead early Friday morning after a brief search for his vehicle in the Cedar Mountain area of Emery County.

On April 21, a call came into the Emery Sheriff concerning a missing person in the Cedar Mountain area. Deputies responded and searched the area, however due to darkness, searchers were limited to the main roads. The search resumed the next morning. Emery County Sheriff's officers received a call Friday morning which indicated that friends of the victim had located the missing person's vehicle. Deputies responded and confirmed that the accident was a fatality. According to the sheriff's office, the incident appears to be a single vehicle accident in which speed may be a factor. The cause of the incident is still under investigation. Check out the Sun Advocate on Tuesday for further information.
