MILLER CREEK-Robert Lee Van Duren, age 69, passed away on April 18, 2011 at his home in Miller Creek.
He was born in Bend, Ore., on Nov. 11, 1941 to William Darrel and Velma Pearl Franke Van Duren. Bob spent his early childhood in California and his youth and teenage years in the Monroe, Wash., area.
At the age of 17, Bob left home and joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed at several bases around the states and was also deployed to Korea and Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict.
He married Connie Pilcher in 1959, and they had two children Tina Marie and Dwayne Lee before their divorce.
