Lady Eagles score league victory over Snow College

The College of Eastern Utah Lady Eagles continue to prepare for the regular season by competing against several talented junior college teams. The last opponent the Eagles faced was Snow College this past weekend.
In the first league game this year, the Eagles played quite well, leading to a 76-70 victory in their favor.
The game was highly contested throughout each half. In fact, the halftime score was 35-34 in favor of the Eagles.
The Eagles squad opened up quite strong in the second half as they outscored the Badgers, 41-34.
Not only was the game a good victory for CEU, but it was also a competition which allowed each athlete to play. In fact, every single player for CEU scored for the victorious team.
Leading the way in points was second year Eagle, Kasey Mills. During the Snow game, Mills scored 17 points while posting four steals and shooting 7-8 from the free-throw line.
Currently, Mills is ranked second in the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings in scoring with an average of 17 points per game.
Following in scoring in the league preseason game was Megan Valgardsen who posted 15 points. Valgardsen also shot 7-8 from the free-throw line. The second year Eagle also pulled down 10 rebounds to lead CEU in this category.
Valgardsen is currently ranked second in the SWAC standings in rebounding with an average of 10 per game.
Former Carbon Dino and first year Eagle, Cassie Warburton scored eight points against Snow while teammate Lindsey Arnoldus finished the game with seven points.
Starting point guard, Rose Hamilton returned to the Eagles squad this season and has played quite well for CEU. Hamilton is ranked first in the SWAC standing in assists and managed to dish out five during the match up with the Badgers.
The Eagles have played well with each player contributing continuously throughout the preseason so far.
The team will continue to compete in preseason action this weekend as the team hosts a team comprised of former college athletes Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The team will then move on to compete at home against the CEU alumni at 4 p.m.
