No plan a close women's shelter
There is no immediate plan or decision to close the Colleen Quigley Women's Shelter in Price, according to the Utah Department of Human Services.
DHS public information officer Elizabeth Sollis told the Sun Advocate that although the department will probably have to trim some more services systemwide as a result of the last round of budget cuts, "We haven't decided where to cut yet. We would not close any center without a needs assessment and contact with the public."
Colleen Quigley Women's Shelter is entirely funded by the state. It was begun more than 25 years ago to provide a haven and counseling services for victims of domestic abuse.
